It’s summertime in the pacific northwest! And while that means a break from school, family calendars are full of camps, swim lessons, road trips, and vacations. At Indigo Urgent Care, we are always looking to make life easier for local families, so we’re sharing top tips from Indigo customers for thriving this season.
1. Camp stress-free with meal prep and health checks
Make the most of your time at the campsite by preparing the meals at home! Something as simple as cutting up fruits and vegetables the day before can add to your playtime. One of our favorites is to make chili in advance, and then simply reheat over the campfire.
Indi tip: If you are sending your kid to camp, you can get same-day appointments for physicals or health checks before they leave home for the great outdoors.
Indigo customer, Poulsbo:
“Took my 12 year old son in for a physical for camp. Indigo got him in on time and we were out of there within 30 minutes. Everyone from the front desk manager, who checked us in, to the clinical staff was so pleasant!”
2. Take advantage of online perks for kids
If you’re flying with kids, consider signing them up for a mileage account to earn points towards a free trip! For frequent travelers, check out the online application for TSA pre-check to save time at the airport.
Indi tip: Indigo offers online appointment booking and wait time estimates at your fingertips.
Indigo customer, Maple Valley:
“I have been here multiple times for myself and my children. Everyone (front desk staff, nurses, physicians) is so kind and helpful here. I've had very minimal wait times as both scheduled appointments and walk ins. They are very quick. I also like that you can do your paperwork online ahead of time to make things go quicker.”
3. Stay clean and entertained on the road
For the inevitable messes that happen on road trips (car sick, anyone?), pack plenty of baby wipes/sanitizing wipes, doggy bags, and garbage bags. To keep everyone entertained, download free audiobooks from your local library that the whole family can enjoy. Or bring headphones in case not everyone wants to listen to the same thing.
Indi tip: Nausea that won’t quit? Book an appointment or walk-in any of our 40+ clinics across the pacific and inland northwest and we’ll get you back on the road (see what we did there?) to recovery.
Indigo Customer, Tacoma:
“I was visiting from out of town and had some serious stomach upset. The folks at Indigo took excellent care of me, ordered tests and scripts, and helped me feel better much more quickly than I had anticipated!”
